Biography

Antonio Donato, was born in Messina, Sicily, and raised in Genoa North Italy. At a young age he returned to Sicily to continue his apprenticeship with Mr. Lentini, master of fine violin making and restorations on all bowed instruments. For years Antonio dedicated his time and craftsmanship to restorations and then to the art of violin making.

Antonio has become well known in the Art of Luthiery and is a long time member of The Violin Society of America where he participates at the International Competition of Violin Making. He is also a member of The Violin Makers Association of Arizona International.

In order to share his love of music with others, in 1990, Antonio Donato founded Donato Music Establishment, which today continues to successfully provide professional quality Violins, Violas, Violoncellos and Upright Basses from the novice to the professional.
